ODA Grant Program

Each Year Grant Weed Control submits grant applications to Oregon Department of Agriculture to gain funding to battle noxious weeds in Grant County. The main weeds that we treat through these grants have been; Squarrose knapweed (Centaurea virgata Lam.), Plumeless Thistle (Carduus acanthoides L.), Yellowflag Iris (Iris pseudacorus) , Perennial Pepperweed (Lepidium larifolium L.),  Mediterranean Sage (Salvia aethiopsis L.), and Whitetop, hoary cress (Cardaria draba Desv.).

We also work with partners on ODA grants that they have been awarded. In 2016 we partnered with  Monument SWCD to treat Leafy Spurge (Euphorbia esula L.) on the John Day River. We also partnered with the South Fork John Day Watershed Council and helped treat in the Izee area for Spotted knapweed (Centaurea maculosa Lam.), Musk Thistle (Carduus nutans L.) and Whitetop, hoary cress (Cardaria draba Desv.)
