The Conservation Reserve Enhancement Program (CREP) is part of the Farm Service Agency's (FSA) Conservation Reserve Program (CRP). In 2017 Grant SWCD applied for grant through OWEB to fund a CREP Technician position and was awarded the grant which funds a position for two years. In 2019 we applied for a second grant to continue funding the CREP Tech position and have been awarded funds for an additional two years, 2020-2021. This position provides technical assistance to FSA for the CREP program. The program was designed to protect and enhance Water Quality, Essential Fish Habitat (EFH) and riparian areas for wildlife use. It provides annual rental rates for enrolled acres as well as cost share for livestock exclusion fencing, riparian plantings and other conservation practices. Please see the attached CREP fact sheet for further information on this program or call Tereasa Perkins at (541) 575-0135 ext. 106.
